things to do

Kings Walden is situated in the breathtaking Agatha Forest Reserve, closed to the spectacular Magoebaskloof. The area offers wonderful activities and excursions to explore. We highly recommend staying more than one night!

Kings Walden itself is already an activity: you can walk through the gardens, swim, read a book surrounded by nature or drink a sundowner with a stunning view. We offer a cultural tour to experience a typical day of the everyday life in a rural village.

For the active visitor there are a number of hikes, either on your own or with a guide. Explore our immediate surroundings by mountain bike on a guided tour. Thrill seekers can enjoy the spectacular Canopy Tour, a Zipline where you fly from platform to platform in a beautiful valley.

A day trip through Magoebaskloof is an absolute must. Lots to do and see….

CYCLING DAY TOUR

Our Mountain cycle takes place outside Tzaneen in the Agatha area with the majestic Wolkberg Mountain range of Limpopo as your back-drop.

CULTURAL VILLAGE TOUR

At Kings Walden, we believe that a visit to South Africa is not complete without experiencing the rich culture and traditions of its people. Our Cultural Village Tour offers a unique opportunity to step into the heart of local life, where you’ll gain insight into the vibrant communities that make this region so special.

MAGOEBASKLOOF CANOPY TOUR

Go on a journey into a previously inaccessible realm of nature, as you traverse the upper level of indigenous forest and ancient mountain cliffs, overlooking the spectacular Groot Letaba River gorge.

BIRDING IN MAGOEBASKLOOF

Kings Walden itself is a unique birding hotspot for the bird enthusiasts. There is a library filled with birding books that one can be on the look out for whilst visiting Kings Walden. Reach out to us via email if you would like to experience the rich bird life Magoebaskloof has to offer with an on-foot guided birding experience.
